CRC Telecom

Who are CRC?
CRC (Cole Robert & Co. Ltd.) was established in 1993 and provide Voice and Data solutions to business customers in the UK. CRC offer businesses the opportunity to significantly reduce telephony costs, implement cost effective and efficient data connectivity, and also offer ongoing assistance in the management of all aspects of telecommunications - voice, data, products, services, technical and legal matters.
I’ve always had good service from BT - why should I switch to CRC?
CRC can offer savings on line rental and calls, without any set up rental costs or disruption to your existing service. Selecting CRC as your preferred provider is done automatically at the point of entry to the public voice network (the local BT exchange). In addition CRC Telecom implementation is handled remotely enabling business customers with multiple sites to switch to CRC quickly, without needing to deploy resources to manage the implement of the service.
By switching to CRC does this mean you will take over the ownership of the line from BT?
Changing suppliers from BT, or indeed any other supplier, to CRC does not alter the ultimate ownership of the telephone line. The line is still owned and maintained by BT. The difference is that you will pay line rental costs and call charges to CRC.
If BT own the line, in the event of a fault or problem, does this mean I still phone BT?
No. You will report the faults to CRC, who will progress this with BT on your behalf. The maintenance service offered will be the same service agreement you currently enjoy with BT. The difference is that CRC, a major customer of BT, will be dealing with BT for you, rather than you having to deal with BT as an individual. The final service delivered will be exactly the same.
I’d like to keep my line rental and maintenance with BT, but enjoy the reduced call charges available through CRC. Can I do this?
Yes, there is an option to only use CRC for call charges, and remain with BT for line rental if you require. However, you would effectively be paying more for exactly the same service, as CRC can offer what amounts to BT’s “wholesale” price for line rental.
Apart from savings on line rental and calls, what other services can CRC offer me?
CRC's Internet Dial Up Service offers reliable UK internet access at a great saving on BT lo-call rates at peak times. Our standard dial-up account gives you unlimited access to the Internet without any 12 month contract, set-up cost or ongoing monthly subscription. CRC's broadband service offers a cost effective solution for any company looking to connect to the Internet with a fast, ‘always on’ (24/7) high speed internet connection. CRC's Leased Line and Private Circuit services are amongst the most flexible in the business, with a wide range of options covering more than just bandwidth availability and straightforward Internet connections. Private Circuits and VPN Solutions are available too.
What is meant by VPN, and what benefits can it provide?
Virtual Private Networking (VPN) gives you secure remote access between company sites, enabling data to be transferred between them in a secure environment. This gives your business the benefit of transferring data across the Internet as securely as on private networks, without the huge cost of installing and managing your own private network.
Used in conjunction with a firewall, there are two basic types of secure data transfer: CRC can supply a managed solution for both VPN (office to office) and remote user to an office VPDN (virtual private dial-up network).
